Our project is currently on a shaky tight rope walk. We keep teetering back and forth on success and failure. I think that we can still pull it off. I will be at the Y a lot over break so I know that by the beginning of second semester I will know for sure whether or not we should continue moving forward with this or start building something new. I love the thought of this clinic and I really hope that we are able to pull it off. I know I will personally strive for the success of this. I'll make sure to keep you updated.

We have gotten our letters back from Megan and they look all official now. We are exploring into clinic aids. I have emailed a couple of representatives from different companies to see what type of help they have to offer to us. We met with Missy on Wednesday the 15th to continue discussing pool set up and ideas. We are still exploring different ways and opportunities to use our pools at the Ymca. We don't want to take complete control of the pools, as we are trying to keep our members in mind as well. I am hopeful that we can get ideal dates soon so that we can better inform our potential sponsors.
We have run into a slight speed bump. Coach Maxwell, our head swim coach, has pointed out how much Oly swim clinics cost. We are still planning on sending out our letter to the IU coach; however, we are looking at other options as well. We will continue to update as we figure out how to deal with this issue.
On Wednesday Natalie and I are took our letters to be proof read by Megan Klomp, the member involvement director, at the ymca. Due to the fact that we are attaching the Ymca name to our letters we have to have them approved by the Ymca. All we are waiting for is her to send us a revised version of the letters so that we can send them out! Yay! Once our letters are sent out we can't really do much expect wait. We can continue to meet with Missy and discuss the pool set up, and advertising. To extend the clinic past just our regular members we have to make sure everything is well advertised in the Lawrence community. Thus meaning we may have to make trips to LC, LN, and some of the surrounding elementary schools to post flyers and help get the word out.
Over fall break Natalie and I met with the Healthy Living Committee. This committee has a variety of board members and directors on it, it even has a therapy dog that joins the meetings. We pitched our project and discussed possibilities of what could come of it. It went really well! The committee responded in a positive manner and offered feedback and advice on how to make the project work no matter the odds. They are very excited to see what we end up with, and they want updates on our progress! The whole experience was very laid back and comfortable. Below you can see a quick selfie that we snapped with the committee!
